Hextris features simple yet challenging gameplay mechanics that are easy to learn but difficult to master. The game centers around a hexagonal structure positioned in the middle of your screen, with colored blocks continuously spawning from the edges and moving toward the center. Your primary objective is to rotate the hexagon to catch incoming blocks on the matching colored sides. Use the left and right arrow keys on desktop or swipe gestures on mobile devices to spin the hexagon clockwise or counterclockwise. Timing and quick reflexes are essential as blocks approach from all six directions at increasing speeds. When three or more blocks of the same color align on any side of the hexagon, they disappear and award you points. Creating larger combinations and consecutive matches builds your score multiplier, significantly boosting your points. The key strategy involves planning ahead and positioning blocks to set up multiple clearing opportunities simultaneously. As gameplay progresses, blocks spawn faster and more frequently, demanding sharper concentration and quicker decision making. The game ends when blocks stack too high and reach the center of the hexagon, leaving no room for new pieces. Your goal is to survive as long as possible while maximizing your score through strategic color matching and combo chains. Press the spacebar or P key to pause the game at any time. You can restart by clicking the restart button. The game automatically saves your highest score, challenging you to improve with each session. Focus on creating cascading combinations and maintaining clear sides to achieve the best results and climb the leaderboard.
